The high reflectivity of glimmerjay feathers is notorious for momentarily blinding unsuspecting pedestrians. To add insult to injury, their optic visor protects themselves from any wayward glare. On a more positive spin, their radiant plumage has also been known to inadvertently thwart pickpockets.
